If you have a chance, please leave me an honest rating and review on iTunes by Clicking Here. It will help the show and its ranking in iTunes immensely! I appreciate it! Enjoy the show!
Originally coming from the Corporate World, Mitzi Connell, of Beyond Maxed Out, says that her world changed when Yoga found her!
Mitzi has now been a Yoga instructor full time for over 5 years and she has recently started working with Isagenix…an organization that she feels offers nutritional products to help herself and her clients get healthier, get leaner, feel better, have more energy and feel younger.
Mitzi is no stranger to Stress and Burnout either. She too, even though she is a Master in the Health and Wellness Industry, has been bitten by the bug of trying to squeeze too much into her day and her life. So, she totally gets not only how it can make you feel, but more importantly, how it can affect you mentally and even physically.
Finding Balance in your life is the Key, according to Mitzi. One of my favorite statements that she made during our interview was this: “Entrepreneurs will work an 80 hour work week to AVOID the 40 hour 9 to 5.”
Because Mitzi was guilty of living this Entrepreneur Lifestyle herself….she can even better relate to her clients now. She knows exactly where they are. Actually, Mitzi say she was borderline at Adrenal failure. And, she credits Isagenix products for helping her begin to feel better within one week.
Helping people find balance in their lives and helping them understand how to listen to their bodies is now Mitzi’s #1 focus in her business. And, even though her primary focus is working with Entrepreneurs, she also points out that many many other people, such as Brides-To-Be, may also undergo this type of stress and they need to be able to recognize it and then know how to deal with it.
Sassy Tip #1:
Take your B Vitamins. According to Mitzi, studies have shown that B Vitamins play a critical role in the formation of serotonin in your body and this is directly related to mood disorders. Not to mention that it can also affect your energy levels. “Do some research on B Vitamins, and then listen to your body,” Mitzi says. There is no one answer for everyone, but B Vitamins are said to help with stress!
Now, of course, Mitzi and Designs By Jerry want to point out that you should always check with your physician before starting any nutritional or supplemental program to ensure that there are not other underlying issues that could also be affecting your health and to ensure they they will not affect any prescription medications that you may already be taking. These results are Mitzi’s own personal testimony….and others may get different results…so first check with your physician.
Sassy Tip #2:
Stop holding your breath! Yep, that’s what Mitzi said…stop holding your breath….”open the belly, relax your tummy and allow the air to come into your lungs.” Mitzi points out the importance of you noticing when you are not breathing, but you are actually holding your breath.
An oxygenated body and mind…is a happier person. And, you can go to Mitzi’s Website for some great breathing exercises.
Sassy Tip #3:
Yoga can help you learn to connect with yourself. And, as Mitzi points out, Yoga is not something you do…it’s a state of being. Making Yoga a part of your life may very well be one of the top tools you need as a Bride-To-Be to help give you balance in your life during this very stressful and chaotic time of planning your wedding. “Staying calm and staying centered is vital,” Mitzi says. “Because if you don’t do that, then you’re getting into your head and you’re getting into expectations and you’re getting into fear or anxiety,” and she points out that you need to be focused and centered to plan the ultimate day for you and your fiance.
So, whether you’re participating in Yoga with your fiance, your bridesmaids, or just by yourself…definitely take the time to participate in this experience and learn to find yourself and listen to your body and it will carry you very very far to planning your own wedding.
Sassy Tip #4:
Embrace the art of Meditation. It’s a form of getting in touch with whatever power that you believe in that is higher than you. Most people have a vision of what they believe meditation to be, so go ahead and listen to the podcast and see some of the ideas Mitzi have to help you get in the zone to successful meditate. Meditation is a tool to help you get in touch with your self and to get still and just focus on relaxing and breathing.
Wedding Whoops:
Mitzi offers us a Wedding Whoops that she recently experienced while attending a wedding. It seems that the Event Planner used Pillar Candles sitting in the floor down each side of the aisle. Unfortunately, the Event Planner didn’t have the foresight to put the candles in a glass container. Now, nothing dramatic did happen, but Mitzi sat there during the wedding focusing on people walking by and dresses getting near the flames. So her wedding whoops is….make sure your candles are encased in the proper containers….and you
may want to really consider whether or not you want to place candles in the floor! We can both see all kinds of potential disasters with that.
