Long Lasting Flower Arrangements

It All Starts With Top Quality Cutters

If you’re looking to ensure that your flower arrangements will last as long as possible, the first recommendation I have is to make sure you have on hand a good, high quality pair of cutters. This makes sure that when you design your flowers you get a clean and sharp cut on your flower stems.

The sharper your cutters are…the smoother the cut is on your flower stems and you cause less damage to the flower stems which results in less stress on the flower.

It all boils down to the flower being able to drink as much water as possible and staying thoroughly hydrated.

The next step is to make sure you keep your cutters clean and free from bacteria. Clean your cutters after each use with a little bleach and water and you will ensure that your cutters are in top notch shape for your next flower designing session.

One of the best set of cutters that I have used are the Fiskar Cutters. There is no shortage in variety of Fiskar cutters, but I highly recommend the Fiskar 9921 Soft Touch cutters (featured below) for beginning floral designers.

These cutters were awarded the Arthritis Foundation Ease-of-Use Commendation for a design that is easy-to-use for people with arthritis or limited hand strength. The cutters have an easy action spring design the gently opens the blades after each cut created to reduce hand strain.

This pair of Fiskars features high-grade, precision-ground, stainless steel blades that have a long lasting sharp edge that cuts all the way to the tip of the cutters. These babies are SUPER SHARP…

Abd, they have a soft-grip handle that offers added comfort for your hand…whether you are right or left handed.
